Street art

What is it? Actually, anything realized in a public space. It of course includes illegal graffiti, but most street art is meant to be there, i.e. has been commissioned privately or by public organizations.

Here's a video to be going on with. Banksy is already a household name. His secret is his anonymity. In this video one of his graffiti is being protected by plexiglass. He has arrived!

Julian Beever has a totally different approach.

Of course, if street art is done illegally, it's vandalism. But the trend is to actually want to brighten up public spaces, and that can't be a bad idea. Or have you never come across a huge mural on the side of a building and marvelled at it?
