I found I was no longer able to paint abstracts. This is the last attempt:
It's never had an airing before because I want to do some more work on it, but never seem to have the energy or time. The artificial light has distorted the colours. Top left has more depth than visible here.
All my new paintings have realist themes. Compared with all the wonderful stuff around they are very modest, but I enjoy doing them. I'd really like to do plein air work, but I don't have the courage. I painted this landscape alla prima (all in one session) and am pleased with it.
Back to the drawing board now....
