All art is autobiographical. The pearl is the oyster's autobiography (Federico Fellini). Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others.(Buddha) You are what you settle for. You are ONLY as much as you settle for.(Janis Joplin 1943-1970) Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except the best.(Henry van Dyke, poet 1852-1933) "I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be." Rescuing the bits and pieces!
My previous post contains the lamentations of a frustrated doodler. I'm cheerful now. My pessimistic view of the challenge of how to make something out of the cuttings from a really, yes really bad A3 doodle was unjustified - I think. Here's the unshaded version and the way it started out (= pieces stuck on as in collage) - turned to portrait format because that's the way it worked out. I haven't decided about colouring or shading yet. It's changed its name. Since it really is made of bits n pieces, I've taken it out of the patchwork series! It's probably the best lesson in composition that I've taught myself so far.
