The thing is that if you want to be able to do something you have to practice. Lots of the exponents of sophisticated doodling (write "zentangle" in Facebook, Flickr or Google and you'll see what I mean) produce truly wonderful work. At the moment my favourite doodler is HERE and I have a long, long way to go before I can even dream of being that good at this artform. But it's absorbing and enjoyable, so I'll battle on.
